We started our flower farm in 2017, and what an amazing adventure it has been! We knew we wanted a special place to raise our family, and also have a place we could share with the community. We would love to have you follow along with us as we continue to learn about farming and running a business, and share opportunities for you to enjoy our flowers!
Over the last few months though we have intermittently brought up getting ducks again. Our daughter absolutely loves animals and we missed the fresh eggs every day. Plus the ducks were very entertaining! We kept holding off though because of different projects and commitments that were keeping us busy. However, in mid-March we finally pulled the trigger and bought three grown ducks.

Read MoreEvery June, the lavender fields at Menkveld Farm are in full-bloom and provide a unique location for outdoor photos in Nashville! Last summer we opened up the farm for lavender photo sessions for the first time, and we were overwhelmed by the interest from photographers and clients all over Tennessee! We loved getting to meet so many different people at all stages in life and see how each photographer was able to capture the farm and their clients with their own unique style.
Read MoreLast year, we opened up Menkveld Farm for hosting small private events for up to 50 attendees, and makes a beautiful and unique for a variety of event types including bridal and baby shower’s, children’s birthday party, or a wedding! Throughout the summer, lavender and sunflowers are in bloom, and make spectacular backdrops for your event and capturing photos onsite. Additionally, during the summer and early fall, we are making the farm available for private lavender picking or uPick bouquet parties.

Lavender makes beautiful wedding bouquets and there are so many beautiful and unique ways it can be used to decorate venues and place settings and be used for wedding favors. We have enjoyed developing some products for our wedding line over the last few months and hope many brides will enjoy them on their wedding day as well!
Read MoreWe have been extra busy at Menkveld Farm the last few weeks with our second lavender harvest. The lavender was ready about a week earlier than last summer, which surprised us given how nice the spring had been here - lots of rain and not too hot. As we near the end of harvest season, we are enjoying the purple that is still in the field, and while we are ready to spend some time at the pool, we are thrilled about everything that has been happening this harvest season.
